"Classroom Assessment Techniques by Thomas Angelo and K. Patricia Cross is designed for college teachers but can also be of use for educators at any level. The book is divided into three parts. The first section deals with basic matters, in particular a description of the Teaching Goals Inventory, which is the basis for their approach to assessment. It also gives a number of examples of successful projects. The second part is the main section of the book and provides 50 specific classroom assessment techniques in areas such as course related knowledge, analysis and critical thinking, problem solving and several others. Each assessment follows a format that includes 14 points including a description of the technique, its purpose, the exact steps to follow to implement it and the pros and cons of using it. The final section covers what the authors have learned from this work and what the next steps will be in this area of education. There is also an extensive list of resources at the end of the book."
